What Did Mementor Do for VuggeBaby?

Mementor took over development and operations of the online store vuggebaby.no in August 2025. We rebuilt product pages, cart and checkout, set up server-side conversion tracking to four ad channels, rewrote the product feed to handle personalized products, and moved email marketing to tools the store owns itself.

In the first year with Mementor, the store got 54 percent more orders and 45 percent higher revenue, measured against the same period the year before.

About the Client

VuggeBaby is a Norwegian, family-owned online store selling baby products: bedding sets, bibs, towels, caps and name tags. Many products are personalized per order with an embroidered name, a choice of embroidery color and font. The store ships from its own warehouse in Lærdal and has over 10,000 happy customers.

That personalization is exactly why standard webshop functionality falls short, in product display, checkout and ad feed alike. VuggeBaby came to us from another provider in August 2025.

The Challenge

The buying experience was generic. Dropdown lists for color and font gave no preview, so customers had to guess how the embroidery would actually look. The checkout had many fields, mixed Norwegian and English, and no clear sense of progress.

Tracking was imprecise. The ad channels received incomplete conversion data because of ad blockers and cookie restrictions, and at one point a silent third-party change broke the entire purchase tracking without any visible error. The product feed sent one ad per variant, with wrong prices and duplicated content.

On top of that, the tools were expensive and scattered: email in an American dollar subscription, reviews in a separate paid service, and search in a heavy plugin. And every piece of content on the site required a developer, from campaign banners to the front page hero.

The Solution

Nine Deliveries That Work Together

Each delivery solves one problem the store had. Together they make buying easier for the customer and running the store easier for the owner.

01

Product Pages That Show, Not Tell

Personalized products require the customer to see the result before buying. The dropdowns are replaced with round color swatches, a font picker that shows the type as it will be embroidered, and a preview of the child's name directly on the product page.

Product badges like "New" and "Bestseller" are managed from the admin, and a buy button follows along as the customer scrolls on mobile.

The Checkout Rebuilt from Scratch

Every step from cart to thank-you page is redesigned with as few friction points as possible: a three-step progress indicator, fully Norwegian copy in every field, and modern cards for shipping and payment options. The nearest pickup point is selected automatically.

Gift wrapping and express production are clear add-on cards with correct VAT, and a free-shipping bar shows how little is missing, in both cart and checkout.

03

Smart Cart and Lightning-Fast Search

A dedicated confirmation modal shows the product just added, the free-shipping progress and four recommended bestsellers from the same category. The product search is replaced with a lightweight solution that suggests as you type.

Quantity picker, product rows and design are shared between cart and checkout, so the customer meets one visual line all the way.

04

Precise Tracking of Every Single Sale

Conversions to Google Ads, Meta, Pinterest and TikTok are sent server-side through a dedicated tracking server, unaffected by ad blockers and cookie restrictions. Google Analytics is fed with full consent support.

Every purchase is verified against the order key, so nothing is double-counted, even if the customer reloads the thank-you page. When a silent vendor update broke the tracking, it was repaired and made self-sufficient.

05

An Ad Feed That Understands Personalized Products

The feed to Google Shopping and Meta is rewritten automatically before every update: variants are merged into one clean product with the right price, color, size and stock status, and brand and product type are set from title and category.

A dedicated admin panel groups products into seasons like christening, Christmas and sales. The seasons are tagged automatically in the feed and steer campaign priority, with a built-in Norwegian sales calendar.

Email Marketing Brought Home

The dollar-priced Klaviyo subscription is replaced with FluentCRM on the store's own server. Automated customer journeys segment on first-time buyers, repeat buyers and customer value, and a dedicated flow catches customers who have not bought in 75 days.

The newsletter popup has smart timing, the emails pull bestsellers dynamically, and an anti-spam filter keeps the signup lists clean.

An Ambassador Program from A to Z

A complete referral program where happy customers recruit new ones: a dedicated landing page with steps, benefits and an application form, and a personal dashboard with referral link, discount code and commission for logged-in ambassadors.

Close to 400 text strings are translated into Norwegian, and the program is visible where the customers are, in the My Account menu and in the footer on every page.

The Store Runs Without a Developer

A dedicated admin panel gathers the tools the store owner uses herself: a front page hero with campaign slides, an info banner with discount code and date control, a review carousel that replaced a paid service, and category pages with their own navigation.

Every tool has live preview, and the cache is purged automatically on save.

Technical Foundation, Design and Speed

All the invisible work that makes the rest possible: over 35 custom modules that survive every update, with nothing hacked into themes or third-party plugins. Footer, My Account and navigation are rebuilt in clean code.

Caching is fine-tuned for mobile speed, and hundreds of product descriptions and landing pages are cleaned up for better search visibility.

How We Worked

From mapping to ongoing operations, in four steps.

  1. 01

    Mapping

We went through the entire buying journey, the tracking setup and the tool costs, and found where customers dropped off and where data was lost.

  2. 02

    Buying Experience First

Product page, cart and checkout were rebuilt module by module, tested on real mobile traffic along the way.

  3. 03

    Data and Advertising

Server-side tracking, consent handling, product feed and season control were in place before the campaigns were scaled.

  4. 04

    Ongoing Operations

Continuous improvements, new tools as needed and fast fixes, like a development department on subscription.

Results

The numbers compare January through July 2026 with the same period the year before, when the store was with its previous provider. All figures come from the store's own order data.

+54 %
more orders
+45 %
higher revenue
+91 %
more orders in May, peak season for christenings and summer gifts

Every Sale Is Tracked to the Right Channel

The ad budget is steered by real conversion data, not guesswork.

The Store Runs Without a Developer

Campaigns, banners and content are changed by the store owner herself, with live preview.

The Tools Are Owned, Not Rented

Two monthly dollar subscriptions are replaced by solutions the store owns itself.

Email Runs on Autopilot

Segmented customer journeys do the work, from welcome flow to "we miss you".

Fully Norwegian and Mobile First

The buying experience is Norwegian all the way, from product page to thank-you page.

What Did Mementor Deliver to VuggeBaby?

Ongoing development and operations of the online store: a new buying experience from product page to checkout, server-side conversion tracking, an optimized product feed, email automation, an ambassador program and custom admin tools.

What Technology Does vuggebaby.no Run On?

WordPress and WooCommerce on PHP 8.4, with LiteSpeed for performance, FluentCRM for email and a dedicated tracking server for conversion data. All customization lives in separate modules that survive updates.

Why Server-Side Tracking?

Ad blockers and browser cookie restrictions make classic tracking lose a significant share of conversions. With a dedicated tracking server, purchase data is sent directly to the ad channels, precisely, consent-based and robustly.

Did You Replace Paid Third-Party Services?

Yes. The email platform, review service and search plugin were replaced by solutions the client owns itself, with no loss of functionality and a lower monthly cost.

Did the Store Have to Be Rebuilt from Scratch?

No. We built on the existing WordPress and WooCommerce setup and improved module by module. The client kept selling at full speed the whole way, with no downtime.

Can Mementor Do the Same for My Online Store?

Yes. The approach fits any WooCommerce store: map, improve the buying journey, make the tracking precise and automate the marketing. See our Service Level Agreement (SLA), or get in touch for a no-obligation chat.
